Brixworth Bowls Club
Brixworth Bowls Club enjoys informal “roll ups”, which is meeting for a game of bowls, friendly matches with local clubs and being part of a League, which the team won for 3 years running.
We meet at Brixworth Centre each Friday. The afternoon group runs between 2.30 – 4.30 and the evening group between 7.00 – 9.00.
We are very happy to welcome beginners and experienced bowlers. We have spare bowls so there is no need to be concerned about not having any. Along with bowling we also arrange social events such as internal competitions, quiz evenings, afternoon tea and a summer event to a place of interest.
Short mat bowling is very sociable and for more information please contact Jenny 07522 559673
Brixworth & Scaldwell Scouts
Brixworth has a highly successful Scout group that has been in the village for over 100 years. We give approximately 100 young people the chance to be part of the Scouting family with a Beaver colony for ages 6-8½ years, a Cub pack for ages 8½-10½ years and a Scout troop for ages 10½ – 13½ years, unfortunately, due to lack of volunteers, the Adventure Scouts has now been disbanded.
Our enthusiastic team of leaders ensure that our young people get to experience as wide a range of activities as possible, including plenty of opportunities to be outdoors and learn new skills. Most of our young people stay with us from Beavers through Cubs and Scouts, and all the way to Explorers.
If your child would like to join us please contact our waiting list administrator via enquiries@brixworthscouts.org.uk (for all sections).
Scouting is also for grown-ups and if you would like to join our team of leaders please email the GSL (gsl@brixworthscouts.org.uk) or the enquiries address (enquiries@brixworthscouts.org.uk).
You can also follow our activities on Facebook @BrixworthScaldwellScouts.

Wudang Tai Chi Chuan
Originally a Chinese soft martial art, Tai Chi Chuan has developed into a form of exercise with significant health benefits. Wudang is a form of Tai Chi developed in Hong Kong by master Cheng Tin hung.
Recognised by the NHS for improving strength, balance, and posture it is particularly helpful to alleviate back, muscle and joint pain, and improve blood circulation.
Good for both physical and mental wellbeing Tai Chi will help you improve focus, concentration and relieve stress.
Accessible for all
Although performed in a slow, controlled, and graceful manner, studies have shown fitness levels achieved by practitioners is comparable to more strenuous forms of exercise. It is suitable for all adults, both old and young.
Your teacher
Richard has been practicing Tai Chi for 12 years under the instruction of Cuong Sam, a student of the late Dan Docherty who, himself, was a student of Cheng Tin hung.
Richard is also a 2nd Dan in Shotokan Karate, but moved to Tai Chi because of knee and back pain.
